My almost two year old is developing a very healthy love of books, just like his brothers. But of course, considering as I am the main one to be reading them to him, I have to like them (almost) as much as he does. So when it comes to board books, or baby books in general, that are going to be read over and over and over again, I get fussy. I simply have to enjoy reading them to him. So here are some that he loves, and that I really don't mind reading again and again and again and again.............

Pip the Gnome - Admar Kwant
So cute and simple, with soft illustrations and minimal words, yet with the opportunity to point to different animals, or say hello and goodnight. Plus it follows the seasons. A very sweet book.
Description
Pip the gnome plays happily with his woodland friends, the mouse, robin, wren and spider. Follow them through spring, summer, into autumn and then winter. The colourful illustrations and simple words introduce very young children to the seasons, with bright green leaves in spring, warm sunshine in summer, blustery wind in autumn and snowfall in winter. Perfect for bedtime, the story ends as we look up at the stars and say good night to Pip.

Each Peach Pear Plum - Janet and Allan Ahlberg
I have made sure I have had this book for all three of my babies. It is simply a delight to read and look at the pictures, and play I spy. The words are wonderfully rhythmic and fun to read.
From Amazon
Each Peach Pear Plum introduces characters from well-known nursery stories, such as the Three Bears, Mother Hubbard and Tom Thumb, and encourages children to participate and to find the characters hidden in the pictures. The text, with its strong rhyme and rhythm, is perfect to read aloud to very young children, while the game of 'I Spy' keeps children enthralled.

Postman Bear - Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler
A well loved book here. Super simple and cute, with flaps! Can't go too wrong with a flap book. Once again, a lovely rhythm makes it fun to read, as well as the gorgeously domesticated woodland animals.
From Amazon
Bear is writing letters to his friends. But what could his letters be about? Lift the flaps and join Frog, Squirrel and Mole for Bear's special surprise!
With sturdy flaps on every spread and rhyming stories that are a joy to read aloud, the Tales from Acorn Wood series has been delighting both parents and toddlers for over twenty years.
Bumping and Bouncing

Happy and Sad
Crashing and Splashing
By Alison Lester
These four little board books are sweetest little books to read to baby, where you can do actions with them on your knee, make sound effects, and point out lots of things. And everything is so very relatable to the daily life of a baby. It is just so sweet! Alison Lester's illustration are always gorgeous, bright, and just a bit nostalgic. I had these with all my boys, and they were always loved.
From Amazon
In this delightful collection of four rhyming stories, Alison Lester shares the joy of all the things little children can do in a day.

Demolition, Construction and Roadworks - Sally Sutton
This three book set that was randomly given to us is very fun to read, once again, for the rhythm, and hence, it is greatly enjoyed by the baby, even though they are a bit longer than most of the other books I have mentioned. Plus they go through the whole process of demolition, construction and roadworks, which I actually found quite informative. Illustrations are really nice too. I know there are many many construction type books on the market for little boys, but these are actually really worth it.
Pippa and Pelle - Daniela Drescher

Daniela Drescher is a really beautiful illustrator, her pictures are vivid yet soft and dreamy, and this story is very simple and very sweet, with little animals and colours to point out to the baby. There are actually a lot of Pippa and Pelle books, but this is the only one we have read.
From Amazon
Pippa and Pelle wake up on a sunny summer's day looking for an adventure. Exploring the meadow they meet new animal friends and learn about their homes - the snail in his shell, the frog in his pond and the beetle in his home made of leaves. But as night falls they are grateful to return to their warm, cosy home in the strawberry patch. Daniela Drescher's distinctive style brings life to this colourful board book, which is perfect for little hands. Young children will love spending a day in the countryside with Pippa and Pelle. A delightful summer board book from the illustrator of In the Land of Fairies. Young children will love spending a day in the countryside with Pippa and Pelle learning about animal homes. Daniela Drescher's distinctive style brings life to this colourful board book, which is perfect for little hands.

As always this is not an exhaustive list, this is pretty much the selection I have in a little basket in our main living area. The rest of the board books live on another shelf, so I hope to make another list in the future. But so far, these are winners. But I would love to hear what other people recommend.
